Santos Rants on X Spaces

Embattled GOP Representative George Santos of New York made headlines on Friday during an epic rant on X Spaces, where he expressed his expectation of being expelled from Congress. Santos criticized his fellow lawmakers, accusing them of being lazy drunks who prioritize their own personal interests over the American people.

House Ethics Committee Report

Earlier this month, the House Ethics Committee released their report on the investigation of Representative George Santos. The committee, led by Republicans, found that Santos had violated criminal laws and had sought to fraudulently exploit his House candidacy for personal financial gain. The report accused Santos of stealing from his campaign and deceiving donors.

Expulsion Resolution

The House Ethics Committee's scathing report was an effort to get Santos expelled from Congress. However, the House had previously voted overwhelmingly to reject a resolution to expel him. Expelling Santos would require a two-thirds vote of the full House.

Superseding Indictment

Last month, Rep. Santos was hit with a 23-count superseding indictment by the Department of Justice. The indictment alleged that Santos had filed fraudulent fundraising reports with the FEC, charged campaign contributors' credit cards without authorization, and obtained financial support for his campaign through deceptive means.

Resolution Co-Sponsors

The original resolution to expel George Santos was co-sponsored by several New York GOP representatives, including Nick LaLota, Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, Nick Langworthy, and Brandon Williams.
